R&B singer Chris Brown turned himself in to the Los Angeles police around 7 p.m. Sunday. Chris Brown had been involved in a felony battery investigation. After his surrender, detectives interrogated him over the incident. LAPD officer Karen Smith who gave out the news about Brown’s surrender said that the young singer was arrested around 6.30p.m. PST and was later booked for criminal threat at 7.41p.m. He was released after a bail for $50,000 was posted. The alleged battered victim in this case was his girlfriend Rihanna.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office is where the case has been posted to be heard and it is expected that additional charges could be filed against the singer. He is expected to appear before the court on March 5.

The whole incident came to light after police officers received a distress call from a woman, who claimed she was hurt in a fight with the singer who had attacked her. The incident occurred near Hancock Park in Los Angeles in the wee hours of Sunday. The victim had called 911. When police reached the site of the incident, they found the woman with visible injuries but the singer had already left the scene.

The victim Rihanna, 20, had multiple bruises on her face but no charges were pressed against her. A couple of hours before the said incident, the two were found to be in a happy mood at a Grammy pre party, they later pulled out of the Grammy Awards function.
