Premier League football club Chelsea’s renowned midfielder and a part of England’s national team Frank Lampard Jr. is recently in the middle of a high-profile divorce case with ex-wife Elen Rives. Obviously this is not the best time for him. But being successful has a price. Intrusion of space, invasion of privacy and being judged by the public is a burden that comes along with the fame.
Recently, James O’Brien a presenter with the London based radio station LBC (97.3) was hosting a show and on it put forward some of his nasty views on Frank Lampard. Apparently he called Lampard a low life scum and accused him of mistreating his former wife. O’Brien’s accusations were based on tabloid reports that claimed that Lampard in the midst of this divorce storm was living in a stately mansion while his two daughters and their mother Elen, were forced to live in a tiny apartment.
Lampard’s sister who was listening to the show informed him about these on air accusations. The day the show was being hosted coincided with the one year death anniversary of Lampard’s mother. Given the circumstance he was clearly in no mood for people accusing and foul-mouthing him. Lampard called the radio station to deal with O’Brien on air and clear the matter. He tried to set the record straight and starts of quite politely. However when he learns that O’Brien based his accusations on tabloid reports he explodes and in a fit of rage gives O’Brien a piece of his mind. The radio host is caught off-guard and fails completely in apologising to Lampard. This on air rant is caught on tape and can be viewed on some websites. The other presenters should probably take note and abstain from going all out to voice their opinions.
