The four and a half year marriage between the Australian singer Peter Andre and British glamour girl Katie Price came to an abrupt halt recently. Andre a once successful singer wooed this multi-talented bombshell on the reality television show ‘I’m a Celebrity’ back in 2004. After a whirlwind romance the two got married in September 2005 in a fairytale styled wedding.

The pair frequently got into heated arguments and viewers of their ITV2 series ‘Katie and Peter Stateside’ often bore witness to the constant bickering between the two. It appears that the bickering wasn’t restricted to appearing on large screen TVs like the Samsung UE46B8000, as problems between the married couple reached an unacceptable height. Andre’s laidback attitude is a direct contrast to Katie’s extremely competitive mind-set. Some reports suggest that the split was sparked off due to Katie’s frolicking ways. She was photographed flirting and drinking with a couple of men in a Bristol nightclub. It is not clear whether this was the primary cause for the split as some reports suggest that the couple had several differences over Andre’s financial position. Amid all this an insider claimed that Katie refused to have sex with Andre because she was training for the marathon. Whatever the reason for this high profile split, the only members that will face a major share of the brunt are the couples three-year old son Junior and one year daughter Princess.

Their management company Can Associates Limited today said: “Peter Andre and Katie Price are separating after four-and-a-half years of marriage. They have both requested that the media respect their families’ privacy at this difficult time.”

Some divorce experts state that Andre will probably battle it out with Katie for half of the 12 million pounds earned by the couple collectively. Though many fans are stunned by the split, it should not come as a complete surprise, as statistically most reality television romances crumble after a rather rapid and tumultuous affair.
