X Factor Winner Alexandra Burke is Rocking with Her Hallelujah

The X Factor winner has managed to stay on the top position for another week. It’s the third week her single ‘Hallelujah’ has been crowned the best on the UK charts.
The song, which is a version of Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah, is still giving a tough competition to many new songs while being the big hit of a single female artist. As many as 311,000 copies were sold in the last week, which augmented the total sales to 888,000. In fact, Hallelujah has been in demand since the first day of release. Yeah, this is what the sales figures reveal: more than 105,000 copies were sold on the first day of its release. Isn’t that amazing? The X Factor girl has actually made a mark in the beginning of her career and has given us a very credible reason to believe her talent.
The HMV spokesperson, Gennaro Castaldo said, “We’re seeing a phenomenal rush to download the Hallelujah single from our website. It’s both our fastest and biggest selling download ever, and Alexandra already has the Christmas number one all wrapped up.”
However, this top number is likely to be outranked by Lady Gaga’s ‘next big thing’ in the coming week. This assumption becomes more believable because her Just Dance has already secured the third position in the latest entries of the week.
Hopefully, Alexandra will keep up to this level far into 2009 and delight her fans with many more rocking tracks. We also can’t wait until the next edition of SingStar, which will hopefully include Alexandra’s awesome track for us to all sing along with.
